HOPE HAMILTON is a writer and emerging publishing professional whose work spans journalism, literary criticism, and creative writing.
She is a reporter for the Express News Group, where her feature articles have appeared in The Southampton Press, The East Hampton Press, The Sag Harbor Express, and 27East.com. Her work reflects a strong interest in narrative, culture, and the intersection of text and voice.
Hope is recent graduate with a BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. During her junior year, she studied at Wadham College, University of Oxford, where she focused on literature, creative writing, and Latin. She served as a nonfiction editor for SLC's longest running student publication, the Sarah Lawrence Literary Review, and was previously part of the team as an Op-Ed writer for the student newspaper, The Phoenix. Hope was one of only ten students selected to represent Sarah Lawrence in their episode of Amazon Prime's The College Tour, season 9.
Hope is the creator of two Substack publications: Your New Favorite Book, dedicated to literary analysis and critique, and Deadline Day, a developing space for her journalism and creative work. Her early work in playwriting was selected for production in Stony Brook University's Young Artists and Writers Project (YAWP) Playwriting Festival and published in the YAWP E-zine. Hope keeps track of her reading and reviewing on her Goodreads.
Alongside reporting for the paper, Hope is currently pursuing a literary internship at Folio Literary Management under SVP Erin Niumata and Audio Rights Director Katherine Odom-Tomchin.
In addition to her writing and journalism pursuits, Hope has a background performing in theater and film.
She plans to pursue a Masters Degree in literature next year, and lives in Sag Harbor, New York.
